Roman Legionaries

These are the centuriae that comprise my 1st Century AD cohort, a vexillatio, or detatchment, of Legio VI Ferrata, which was stationed in Syria, apart from a trip to Rome in AD69 with Vespasian to install him as emperor.

The full complement will probably be six centuria of legionaries, two or three centuria of auxilia infantry, one of sagittarii (archers), one tuma of drommedarii, two tumae of cavalry, supported by a few scorpio (small bolt throwing catapaults), a ballista and an onagar (large catapaults).

Marcus Sempronius Fortunatus’ centuria, the first century of Warlord Games’ figures I completed. All the figures are plastic apart from the optio, at the right of the rear rank.
